♣ Aidan James Cortlandt, or as some of his friends call him, AJ; was born September 25, 1984 in Manchester, England. He is the youngest of Dalton & Chelsea Cortlandt's five sons.
♣ The Cortlandt's moved to New York the summer before Aidan's fourteenth birthday, just in time for him to start high school at the LaGuardia School of Music & the Performing Arts. Aidan's only interests in school were classes that involved music, so a school seemingly dedicated to his passion, was just the school for him.
♣ Aidan's parents are both professor's at Columbia University. His mother teaches linguistics and his father teaches mathematics.
♣ Although his favorite instruments to play are the guitar & the bass, Aidan is well versed in many other instruments. He started playing the piano at the age of five, the violin at age seven; and by the time he graduated high school he had learned nearly every instrument the concert band had to offer.
♣ He looks like an unlikely musician for anything other than his prefered genre which happens to be punk and rock. But to most people's surprise Aidan attended the Julliard School at Lincoln Center in Manhattan for Piano.
♣ Used to be in a "garage band" which he liked to call RVK (Rotten Vermicious Knids). However he ended up leaving the band when he realized the other guys weren't as into the music career as he was. He wanted to be in a band that was pursuing the same dream he was. His new band, Idiosyncratic is hoping to one day sign a record deal.
♣ Girls tend to go crazy over Aidan's English accent, which is still quite noticable. He tends to use it to his advantage when girls show interest in him. Nothing wrong with grabbing a few numbers right?
♣ Being the youngest of five boys Aidan picked up a lot of bad habits from his older brothers. He tends to be a bit flaky when it comes to dating, he has a bit of a dependency when it comes to pot and booze, and he has a bit of a habit of lying to get himself out of trouble. Though he is a bad liar and people close enough to him can easily see through it, except for his parents that is.
♣ Aidan actually enjoys musicals, having seen nearly all of the ones that played on Broadway since he moved to New York at thirteen, til the time he left for Chicago. (June of 2008) While in high school Aidan actually joined the cast of two school plays, Grease where he played Kenickie, and Bye, Bye Birdie where he played Conrad.
♣ Seemingly addicted to tattoos, he doesn't think he could ever have too many. But more than his tattoos.. Aidan loves his piercings, especially his lip ring.
♣ Everyone has a celebrity crush right? Aidan however had a big enough crush on Lindsay Lohan to write a song about her. But now that she seems like a crackhead he's a bit turned off.
♣ His friends and family mean everything to him. He will do anything within his capabilites to make the people closest to him happy. This may seem odd to people who aren't that close to him because he has a tendency to come off as a jerk.
♣ His oldest brother, Liam, still lives in England and is now on the Manchester United Football Team. Aidan and his family couldn't be more proud of him.
